CRAYFISH PLAGUE UPDATE

Environment Agency sources have revealed that around 30 mature adults of the American Signal Crayfish were found in the River Glenderamackin at Threlkeld, a stone’s throw from PAA waters.

At the moment the Eden system, which includes PAA waters remains free of American Signal Crayfish and the disease they are reputed to carry, in an effort to ensure they stay this way Penrith anglers would ask visiting anglers to refer to the precautions outlined on our Crayfish Plague page

YOU MUST ACQUIRE AN ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ROD LICENSE BEFORE FISHING.

This can be obtained from any Post Office.

Anyone who is unsure about closed seasons and fishery byelaws should go to http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/regions/northwest/ where they can get the information they require
